Tomball is in Harris County, Texas and is part of the Houston Metro area. The population here back in 2010 was just under 11,000. As of 2017 the current population here was just under 12,000. Tomball was originally named “Peck” but in 1907 the town was renamed after a local congressman by the name of Thomas Henry Ball. The reason the town was renamed after him was because he had a large role in the development of the Port of Houston. Tomball was not incorporated until 1933. Besides the 7 acre fishing lake there are five playgrounds located in this park as well as a picnic area and a sports field for you to play with friends and family on. There is also more than 8 miles of nature trails as well as an observation deck. There is also a dog park for your four legged friends as well as a barbecue pavilion that has seating for up to 250.
