Then there is “Embrey Field.” Here you can take your children to play on the playground or kick the ball around on the soccer field. When they want a snack, you can head over to Heritage Park where you will find fire pits where you can toast marshmallows to make s’mores. There is even a dog park here. “The Log Cabin Restaurant” is one of the most well known eateries here in Stafford. It was opened back in 1942 by the Mitchell family. At one point in time there was a dance hall located here that served the Quantico Marines. Back during this time the Mary Washington College girls were not allowed to drink within ten miles of their school. This log cabin was a little more than 10 miles away from that school so this space became a well known tavern. Then in 1979 the third generation of Mitchells turned this tavern into a seafood and steak restaurant. Since then it has become known as one of the best places to eat in Stafford. This is also a great place for a date night!
