From the end of May until the beginning of October the daily average high is just about 86 degrees. The low for this time is a very breezy 77 degrees. The warmest time of the year here is in August when the daily average high is about 90 degrees. The cool season on the other hand lasts for less than three months. From mid December until the beginning of March the daily average high is the same as the low for the summer months coming in at 77 degrees. The low for this time is a somewhat chilly 57 degrees. The coolest time of the year here is mid-January. Sanibel receives close to 60 inches of rain per year and absolutely no snow. Sanibel Public Library –
The Sanibel Public Library was built back in 1994 and was a whopping 19,000 square feet at that time. In 2004 this public library was expanded adding an additional 10,386 square feet which brought the grand square feet total to just under 30,000. Here you will find more than 60,000 books. This library is also a charter member of the Southwest Florida Library Network. If you were looking to escape the beaches for some peace and quiet, this is the place to do it.
