Mount Juliet can be found in Western Wilson County. This suburb of Nashville is roughly 17 miles East of Downtown Nashville. Mount Juliet is located between Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 70. In 2016 there was a non census poll taken that showed that the population here had increased by 10,000 to 33,263 residents. Mount Juliet is the largest city in all of Wilson County and was incorporated as a city back in 1972. There are two conflicting stories as to how Mount Juliet got its name. The first is that it is named after Julia Gleaves who was a woman that was known for taking care of those in need within the community some time ago. There is a more well known story that it is named after the Mount Juliet Estate which is a manor house in County Kilkenny, Ireland. From the end of November until the end of February the daily average high is just about 56 degrees. The low for this time is just below the freezing mark coming in at 30 degrees. The coldest time of the year here is towards the end of January. Here in Mount Juliet you can expect to see roughly 51 inches of rain per year. Rain is most common in the spring time here. Although it does tend to get pretty chilly during the winter months you will not see a lot of snow here.
