Lebanon is in Wilson County, Tennessee. It is also the county seat. At the time of the 2010 census the population here was 26,190. Then in 2013 that number increased only slightly when it went up to 28,608. As of the last census conducted in 2016 the population here had gone up to 33,372 residents. Lebanon is in Middle Tennessee which is roughly 25 miles East of Downtown Nashville. Living here offers up easy access to some of the best places in Nashville in just about a 40-minute drive or so. Lebanon is also part of the Nashville Metro Statistical Area. Lebanon was incorporated all the way back in 1801. Many of the residents who live here refer to Lebanon as “Cedar City.” This is due to the large amount of cedar trees found in the area. One of the perks of living here is that Cumberland University is located here. Cumberland University is a very small, private liberal arts school. According to the United States Census Bureau, Lebanon has a total land area of 38.63 square miles with a very tiny portion of that being water. When it comes to the weather here, it falls in the category of “Humid Subtropical.” This means that the summer months will be hot and muggy whereas the winter months will be very cold and wet. It is also partly cloudy here year-round. The hot season here lasts for almost four months. From the end of May until the end of September the daily average high is just about 81 degrees. The low for this time is just about 70 degrees. The cold season on the other hand lasts for exactly three months. From the end of November until the end of February the daily average high is just about 56 degrees. The low for this time is roughly 30 degrees. The temperature can vary greatly throughout the year here. During the winter there are times when the thermometer has dropped as low as 15 degrees. This usually happens at the end of January through mid-February. During the summer months there are times when you can see temperatures rise to close to 100 degrees. This usually happens in mid-July. Lebanon receives about 51 inches of rain per year which is only a tad bit higher than the national average of 39 inches per year. Although it does tend to get very cold here during the winter you won’t see a whole lot of snow. On average you can expect to see three inches or less per year which is great if you want to move to a climate that does not require you to have shovels and rock salt for the sidewalks. Many locals have stated that they love the weather here despite the extreme variations during the winter and summer.

Education in Lebanon –
The Lebanon Special School District is the main school system here in Lebanon. Within this district there are four elementary schools as well as two middle schools. The Wilson County School District also operates several additional primary and secondary schools here in Lebanon such as Wilson Central High School and Lebanon High School. This high was recently reconstructed to offer students a better learning experience. There are also two private schools here in Lebanon. There is the Friendship Christian School as well as the McClain Christian Academy. Cumberland University is also located here. It was founded back in 1842 and has produced more than eighty Congressmen and Senators since it opened its doors almost 200 years ago.
Economy in Lebanon –

There are several businesses that are headquartered here. Cracker Barrel was founded by Danielle Evins all the way back in 1969. The corporate headquarters is still located right here in Lebanon. PRG Customized/Kenneth O. Lester (Performance Food Group Company) is based here and has a corporate office as well as a distribution center where one of their largest clients is Cracker Barrel. They also serve other restaurant companies in the area as well as surrounding counties. Lochinvar Corporation, which is a water products manufacturer, is based here as well.
