Kennesaw, Georgia
The city of Kennesaw is located in Cobb County, Georgia. It is bordered by Acworth to the northwest and has Kennesaw Mountain to its southeast. With a population of over 30,000, it is the 28th-largest in the state. The city, which was founded in 1887, has a humid subtropical climate and is part of the greater Atlanta metro area. The history of Kennesaw revolves around the Western and Atlantic Railroad. It grew as shanties as the railroad was being constructed in the late 1830s. The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, which can be found downtown, is one of the major local attractions in the city. It houses the locomotive The General of the Great Locomotive Chase fame.
