Baytown can be found within Harris County with portions extending into Chambers County in the Gulf Coast region. This portion of Texas is located within the Houston – The Woodlands – Sugar Land Metro Area. You will find that Baytown lies on the Northern side of the Galveston Bay complex right near the outlets of the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou. Baytown is the 6th largest city within the Metro Area. When the 2010 census was taken the population here was 71,802. In 2016 the population had increased a tad to just under 76,000. As of 2018 the population here has grown to more than 85,000 residents. If you were to look on a map you would see that Baytown is located at the mouth of the San Jacinto River on Galveston Bay.
