Background on Arlington, Texas
Arlington is located in Tarrant County which is part of the Dallas – Fort Worth – Arlington Metro Area. Arlington can be found 12 miles East of Downtown Fort Worth and 20 miles West of Downtown Dallas. Six Flags Over Texas is a must see if you live in the Arlington area. This 212 acre theme park is located about 15 miles West of Dallas. If you are into thrill rides, this place has those for you. “The Titan” is a 245 foot high roller coaster that is not only the tallest coaster in Texas, it is also the fastest at a whopping 85 miles per hour. The tallest swing ride in the world can be found here as well. The “Texas SkyScreamer” is not for the faint of heart. This ride takes you 400 feet in the air and spins you around at speeds close to 43 miles per hour. Although this ride sounds a bit terrifying it offers up some amazing views of Texas. If you are daring enough, give this ride a go when visiting Six Flags Over Texas.
AT&T Stadium is the home of the Dallas Cowboys. This stadium features a retractable roof that allows for the team to play in inclement weather. The city of Arlington owns this facility. Besides hosting the Dallas Cowboys this stadium hosts the Cotton Bowl Classic as well as various concerts, rodeos, Spartan races and even basketball games.
