Condo
Steps to the Beach - Perfect All-Season Getaway
Hilton Head, South Carolina, United States
Villa la Vie is the place for stylish, well-appointed, restful island comfort in any season. Nothing is more restorative than a morning walk on a serene beach. brbrPerfect for singles, couples, and parents with older children (no kiddos under 10, please - and sorry, but NO PETS; it's a condo association rule and we can't waive it).brbrThe Property: brbrVilla la Vie is a two-story condo with 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in the desirable Surf Court complex. Only a 5-minute stroll to the beach, it is on the second and third floors of the complex (more about which see below). A sparkling pool sits in the center of the courtyard. The pool is closed for swimming from October 1 through April 1, but the pool deck is open for lounging year-round. brbrSurf Court is located in Hilton Head's sweet spot - a ten-minute walk to Coligny. Great restaurants, bike rentals, Low Country Celebration Park - all within a stone's throw or less. brbrFurnished in designer style, Villa la Vie is the perfect place to rest, relax, and restore in luxe Island comfort. brbrThe Bedrooms: brbrThe King Bedroom has (as you might expect) a King bed, a 55" HD smart TV for streaming, and a full en-suite bath called the Green Tile bath (you'll see why). And upscale linens for the oh-so-comfy bed. brbrThe Peacock Bedroom (named for its beautiful designer wallpaper accent wall) has two full-sized beds, a 50" HD smart TV for streaming with a full en-suite bath cleverly called the White Tile bathroom - but its most striking feature may be what I like to call the Mad Max Mirror (let me know if you agree with the name). brbrBoth bedrooms have dressers with ample drawers for storage and walk-in closets, complete with HANGERS! (Don't you just hate it when you get to your vacation rental and there aren't enough hangers for your clothes?) brbrKitchen: brbrDownstairs, you'll find a full kitchen with all the amenities, including a drip coffee maker AND a Nespresso machine. And an electric kettle for tea lovers. brbrA full-sized drop-in range for cooking sits across from the cutest refrigerator/freezer you ever saw. There is a countertop nugget ice maker for crunchy, refreshing nugget ice. brbrOpen shelving in the kitchen allows you to see the plates, dishes, cups, and glasses - both porcelain and unbreakable- depending upon your preference - without having to hunt through closed cupboards. A dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, and toaster round out the kitchen equipment. brbrA full-sized washer and dryer sit just off the kitchen, with laundry detergent pods provided. brbrDining: brbrMoving from the kitchen, you'll pass through the dining area with comfortable seating for six around the reclaimed wood dining table. Shelving with books and some games (backgammon and mah jong) complemented by Asian and Delft-inspired blue and white porcelain line the wall in the dining area. brbrLiving: brbrThe living area was designed for comfort and boasts a Pottery Barn down-cushion sofa, two upholstered swivel chairs flanking the 65" HD smart (really quite impressively intelligent) TV, and two pretty poufs (you'll see). brbrA large sliding glass door (with the reliable technology of a stick-in-the-track locking system) provides a view of the lush, lovely courtyard and pool and access to the small balcony with a spiral staircase so that you can experience the beautiful courtyard and refreshing pool for yourself. (The pool is open for swimming from April 1 - September 30. The pool deck is open for relaxing and lounging all year.) brbrThe only way (well, there is a secret way that you'll learn if you book) to access the Surf Court courtyard is through one of the units, preferably Villa la Vie. It is not open to the public. brbrThe Complex: brbrVilla la Vie is in the Surf Court condominium complex, "second row" to the beach with access directly across South Forest Beach Drive. brbrIt's a short, very pleasant 5-minute stroll to one of the country's best beaches with fine, soft, silky sand and spectacular sunrises. A 10-minute walk up South Forest Beach brings you to Coligny Beach Park with its adjacent shopping and dining opportunities. Around the corner on Nassau Street, you'll find Hilton Head's newest wonder, Lowcountry Celebration Park (the Adventure Ship is something to see), also right next to restaurants and shopping. brbrThe Experience: brbrSavor your morning coffee (from either the drip maker OR the Nespresso) overlooking the courtyard and pool. Then, take a walk by the waves, letting the water kiss your feet and gently wash away your stress, just like it does your footprints. This is luxe Island life. This is what a vacation is all about. brbrBeach towels and a beach cart are provided for your use during your stay at Villa la Vie. If you want to stroll on the beach after dark from May to October, red flashlights only are permitted. So, of course, you'll find some at Villa la Vie. We just ask that you return them to their basket so the next guest can use them. brbrSpecial Aspects of a Villa la Vie Stay: brbrVilla la Vie is a place for adults, not only in its design but also because the entry stairs are somewhat steep, and the spiral staircase can be a problem for the very young. We welcome primary renters over 25 but not children under 12. brbrA rental agreement will be sent upon booking and a security deposit hold of $300 will be put on your credit card for the period of the rental. brbrNO smoking or vaping, ever, anywhere inside or around Villa la Vie. brbrAnd no parties or "events" of any kind, ever, again - neither inside nor around Villa la Vie. brbrQuiet time is between 10 pm and 8 am, by regime (the complex HOA) and house rules. brbrTwo-night minimum stays, but we know you'll want at least a week. We suggest two. Or more. brbrTo provide you with the best possible experience, we don't want our environmentally conscientious, excellent cleaners to be rushed. So we discourage check-ins on Saturdays, when the rest of the Island turns over. You're welcome to check out on Saturday but be forewarned: traffic getting off of the Island on Saturday can be terrifically bad. brbrPLEASE consider purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip. Then purchase it. It's worth it. brbrVilla la Vie is our only short-term rental property. It is a labor of love, and our way of showing that we love Hilton Head. We know you will, too. brbrPLEASE NOTE - Beginning September 19, 2022, work will begin to replace the roofs in the Surf Court complex (staging for the work will begin on September 16). The work is being done in stages, and Villa la Vie's building will not be done for a couple of years. But there will be work going on elsewhere at the complex. The work should not cause any inconvenience. If it does, please let us know immediately so that we can take the matter up with the regime (that's what they call the HOA in South Carolina).
