Cave Creek is in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is within close proximity to Phoenix. According to the 2010 census the population here at that time was 5,015. Fast forward to 2016 when a non census related survey was taken that showed that in six years’ time the population here had only grown by a few hundred to 5,476. This portion of Arizona has seen very slow growth in recent years but there is certainly room for this town to expand. According to the United States Census Bureau, Cave Creek is a total of 37.72 square miles in size with a very small portion of that being water. Here in Cave Creek there are many historic artifacts and properties all throughout the town. There is the Tubercular Cabin which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as well as the Golden Reef Stamp Mill and the First Church of Cave Creek. There is also the Cave Creek Service Station which is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places and the Cave Creek Inn. Some of these properties have been converted into restaurants but still remain historic landmarks. When it comes to the climate here in Cave Creek is falls into the category of “Mid-Latitude Steppe and Desert Climate.” What this means is that the summer months will be extremely hot and dry, and the winter months will be cold and mostly clear. The temperature here can range from 33 degrees during the winter months all the way up to 107 in the summer. The hot season here lasts for just about three and a half months. From the very end of May until mid-September the daily average high is a staggering 93 degrees. The low for this time is just under 80 degrees coming in at a very warm 77 degrees. The hottest time of the year here is in July when you can expect to see the daily temperature to be at least 100 degrees. If there is a heat wave you can expect to see that number climb up to that 107 degree mark. The cool season on the other hand also lasts for just about three and a half months. From the end of November until the very beginning of March the daily average high is just about 70 degrees. The low for this time hovering around 41 degrees. One of the advantages of living here in Cave Creek is that there is absolutely no snow fall. There have been times when frost forms on cars and grass in the early winter mornings but it usually melts by the time the sun has come up. Since Cave Creek is in a Desert climate you will not see a whole lot of rain here. On average you will see about twelve inches or so per year which is significantly lower than the national average of just under 40 inches per year. Education in Cave Creek –
There are two schools districts that serve the students in Cave Creek. There is the Cave Creek Unified School District which has five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The other school system that serves portions of Cave Creek is the Deer Valley Unified School District. This school is a Pre-K through twelfth grade district and is headquartered in Phoenix. This school system is the fifth largest school district in all of Arizona. It serves not only Phoenix but also Glendale, Peoria, Anthem, New River and many other unincorporated areas of Northwest Maricopa County. Depending on which part of Cave Creek you live in will dictate which school district your child will attend.

There are many parks for you to enjoy if you live here in Cave Creek. First there is the “Gateway Desert Awareness Park” which has so much to offer. Here there are playgrounds, hiking trails, an amphitheater and a demonstration garden. Then there is the “Cave Creek Regional Park.” This park ranges in elevation from 2,000 feet all the way up to 3,060 feet and provides visitors with a desert oasis.
