Roswell is a midsize city in Fulton County, Georgia in the Northern section of the state. With a population of more than 90,000, Roswell sits just 19 miles north of the downtown Atlanta core. When factored in to the entire Atlanta metropolitan area, Roswell is part of a combined population of more than six million.
Roswell has a typical humid subtropical climate which seas average temperatures in the winter months hovering around the low 50s while temperatures in the summer months often reach the low to mid 90s. The summers are also known to be very humid.

However, the crown jewel has to be the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. This is a 48-mile stretch of river that has some of the most impressive public recreation sites in the area. One of the more popular areas within is Cochran Shoals which features a 3-mile fitness trail ideal for walking, jogging, cycling, and birds and wildlife watching.
Roswell has received national recognition for its public park system which includes eight public parks covering more than 900 acres of land. Their municipal park system includes two multi-use park trails, the Allen Brook Trail and the Willeo Trail. The more popular parks include East Roswell Park which features a lake, and Grimes Bridge Park which has gaming and recreation facilities. Roswell Area Park features a pond, Olympic size pool, visual arts center, baseball field, playground, and walking trail.
The cultural hub of the city is the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, an impressive multi-use facility which draws in patrons all year-round. The center host events such as the Southern Circuit Film Tour which shows independent films from all over, stage productions from the Georgia Ensemble Theatre as well as a Visual Artist Spotlight Series.
Schools in Roswell are administered by the Fulton County School System, one of the largest school district in the nation with an enrollment of more than 94,000 students. Some of the higher rated schools in Roswell are Hembree Springs Elementary School, Northwood Elementary School, Crabapple Middle School, and Roswell High School.
Roswell has long been a growing, progressive city which draws in new residents every year. It’s not surprising the city has been recognized for its municipal achievements. It has twice been selected by Atlanta Magazine as the best place to live in the metro Atlanta area. The Georgia Municipal Association awarded Roswell the City of Excellence Award in 2003.
