Miami Beach is a world renowned resort city located in Miami Dade County on the southeastern coast of the state of Florida. It is located on a series of natural and man-made barrier islands between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and has a population of just over 88,000. The 2.5 mi.² section known as South Beach is perhaps one of the more famous neighbourhoods in the entire world. For decades now, it has been the destination of choice of the world’s richest and most famous celebrities and athletes. When LeBron James announced he was playing for the Miami Heat, he didn’t say he was going to Miami, he said “I’m taking my talents to South Beach.

 

Miami Beach has a typical tropical climate which features hot humid summers and warm dry winters. The average temperature in January since at around 74° and in the summer reaches consistently in the low 90s.

 

It would be difficult to discuss the appealing aspects of Miami Beach and not lead with South Beach. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, there is no shortage of incredible bars, restaurants and nightlife destinations. Put simply, South Beach is where fun happens. The main strip of South Beach is Lincoln Road, known for its outdoor dining cycling rollerblading and shopping. This is where you’ll find some of the most impressive shops and restaurants anywhere.

 

One of the more fascinating areas of Miami Beach is the Art Deco historic district which features hotels buildings and structures all constructed between 1923 1943. What makes us unique is they were all built with either the Mediterranean, streamline modern, or Art Deco architecture design. The area is so unique, in 1979 the Art Deco historic district was listed on the national register of historic places.

 

Miami Beach is known for bicycles as being one of the primary modes of transportation. The city features pedestrian and cycling friendly streets as well as their own public bicycle sharing system. This is a great way to keep the community green while providing a fun way to get around and see the area.

 

Schools in Miami Beach are administered by the Miami Dade County School system, the fourth largest in the United States. Amongst the top ranked schools in Miami Beach are: North Beach Elementary School, South Pointe Elementary School, Fienberg/Fisher K–8 Centre, and Miami Beach Senior High School

 

If you enjoy sunny weather with a vibrant nightlife, Miami Beach is probably the place for you. There are still plenty of a quiet and quaint sections of the city for those who want to get away from the bustling crowd.
