This custom, architect designed, one owner home is situated on 4.8 acres on a cul de sac of a quiet neighborhood. Fruit bearing trees as well as numerous shade trees dot the landscape. The neighborhood entrance is at the end of a dead end street, so there is zero through traffic. The house was built on an engineered compacted A4 dirt pad that brought it 2 feet above natural grade and over a foot above the road to an elevation of approximately 15 feet. The slab is an engineered post tensioned monolithic slab. There is a half-acre stocked pond behind the house. The dirt from the pond was kept on site and used to back fill and contour the property. This property sheds rain water very, very quickly. It is not in a flood zone. At the left rear of the property is a 30X40 workshop with a 30X20 covered porch. There is a full bathroom in the shop. A pump shed houses a three inch water well with submersible pump that is used to maintain the water level in the pond and was used for irrigation when the trees were young. Four aerators in the pond are driven by a pump in the pump shed. Behind the shop is a 500 gallon propane tank that supplies the gas for the kitchen range in both kitchens. There are gas outlets in the living room and master bedroom for heating stoves, ventless fireplaces, etc. A gas outlet near the electrical panel outside can be hooked up to a whole house generator, which was the reason for the oversized propane tank. A mature privacy hedge gives the homesite a secluded, private atmosphere even though town amenities are only five minutes away. Lawco provides water service; Cox supplies our internet, television service and phone service. AT&T is available. We have underground electrical service to the house from the pole supplied by Cleco and there is a street light that floods the front yard. Sewerage is handled by a high quality, high capacity sewerage treatment plant. Our home has over 4700 sqare feet of living area, a two car garage with attic access and attic storage, a twenty foot wide by 160 foot concrete driveway, a 450 square foot porch and a 360 square foot patio covered by a pergola covered with a sunscreen and lit by decorative string lights. Rooms for every purpose include living, dining, breakfast, kitchen, master bedroom with large master bath and huge master closet, second bedroom with full bath and walk in closet, third bedroom with full bath and walk in closet, fourth bedroom/study with two closets, laundry room, and pantry. At the rear of the home is an area that contains a sun room, commercial style second kitchen, a huge pantry, a full bath and a purpose-built 5 room recording studio. This can easily be converted to a pool house(we allowed for a future pool with stub outs from the slab for filter, etc.), entertainment suite, office suite or mother in law apartment. All walls and ceilings are solid sheeted with half inch plywood behind half inch sheetrock. You can hang a picture anywhere without needing sheetrock anchors. This makes for a very quiet, very strong structure. The custom entrance with beautiful leaded art glass ushers you into a large, open area consisting of the foyer, dining room, living room, breakfast area and kitchen. That area is approximately 1200 square feet. Large crown molding really dresses up the space. High ceilings ranging from 10 to 14 feet increase the spaciousness of the area. We have set out tables and chairs to entertain as many as 50 guests in this area. The entry, living, breakfast and kitchen have ceramic tile flooring and the dining room is floored with an engineered oak floor tinted with a cherry stain. A chandelier provides light in the 14 foot tall foyer. There is a floating transom between the foyer and the dining room that is set with antique reproduction glass. The dining room has a matching chandelier. All of the interior doorways in the areas with 10 foot ceilings are equipped with transoms set with the same antique reproduction glass. Just off of the foyer is a small hall leading to the guest half bath with a pretty pedestal lavatory and toilet that is convenient and private for your guests. The living room has a 14 foot vaulted ceiling with cove lighting for a nice, bright, indirect flood of light. There are two ceiling fans in the living room with light fixtures as well. There is a wall of windows looking out on the back yard with a wonderful view of the stocked pond. The pergola over the patio has a sunscreen that blocks the direct sunlight from the windows. The breakfast area is large (we have a table that seats 10 there) and well lit with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan with light fixture. A double window looks out into the back yard. The kitchen is almost 200 square feet with really gorgeous custom cabinetry. A peninsular island contains the triple sink with garbage disposal and a trash compactor. The side by side refridgerator has through the door ice and water. The stove is a professional model with gas cooktop and electric oven. The dishwasher is a quiet workhorse. Over the stove is a massive vent hood that actually does vent out of the kitchen. The magnificent mantle and hand painted tile backsplash combine to produce a spectactular presence. A very generous amount of cabinet space provides all of the storage you will need. The black marble tile countertops really combine with the red woodwork to make a stunning impression. Over 600 square feet of space makes the master suite a home within your home. That does not even count the almost 300 square foot sun/sitting room just off of the bedroom. The wall between the master suite and living area is insulated with batt insulation for great sound deadening. The large master bedroom with 10 foot/11 foot trey ceiling, ceiling fan and recessed lighting is spacious enough for all of your treasured furniture. Massive crown molding makes for a luxurious experience. As you walk into the master bath, you will love the warm, custom cherry cabinetry with his and hers lavatories each having generous counter top area. The makeup cubby with cathedral cabinet above gives you space to store all of your grooming supplies and equipment neatly with ready access and a ceiling fan keeps you cool. The large custom shower with seat and huge jaccuzzi tub with cathedral ceiling combine for a luxurious setting to relax and unwind. The master bath has its own 50 gallon water heater so you will not have to worry about running out of hot water. A separate, private room houses the toilet. The master closet is almost 150 square feet in area with a 12 foot high ceiling. A generous amount of shelving above the hanging clothes area gives you climate controlled storage for those things you do not want in the attic. Large builtin chests of drawers give you plenty of space for your folding clothes. A 4 foot wide full length mirror provides a great dressing room experience. The sun/sitting room just outside the master bedroom is perfect for sipping your coffee in the morning or watching the ducks splash in the pond in the evening. There are two outside entrances to this room and it leads to the back kitchen and office/media area. Plenty of natural light and soothing indirect cove lighting make this a great place to relax. Two ceiling fans and 10 foot ceilings make it easy to keep comfortable. Across the house in this split floor plan, a hall between the kitchen and garage gives access to the second and third bedrooms as well as the pantry and laundry room. The second and third bedrooms each have a full bath as well as a walk in closet. This area of the house has nine foot ceilings to keep the spacious feel. Bedroom number two is over 200 square feet plus the closet and bathroom. Bedroom number three is 150 square feet plus the closet and bathroom. We catered my daughter's wedding reception that was held in our backyard out of this kitchen and served 350 guests with no problem. A six foot by twenty foot pantry will store the most extensive collection of kitchen supplies you could imagine. It also contains pull down attic stairs. The rear area of the house behind the second kitchen can be used as an office, fitness area, media area or combination of all of these. I am currently using it as a recording studio and office. There is a large room that has been built to one of the audio 'golden ratios.' It is 10 feet high by 16 feet wide by 23.4 feet long. This gives it superb acoustic properties and would make it a fantastic home theater room. The walls are all 6 inch walls with great acoustic and thermal insulation. The ceiling has 12 inch bat insulation as well for great sound isolation. If you desire a home recording studio, this is a perfect match. That's right, the kitchen, bathroom, pantry, as well as the small rooms off of the office are all wired with quality recording cable.
