This is a beautiful, traditional old farmhouse located at the foothills of the Presidential Mountain Range in Jefferson, NH. The house is structurally sound, super insulated and underwent extensive renovations in the summer of 2014. These renovations include new clapboard siding and trim on the entire exterior, new 30 year shingles on the roof, new porch roof, replacement windows in one of the rooms, new thermal front door, fresh paint on the interior and exterior, refinished hardwood floors and other cosmetic repairs. There are two bedrooms located in the upstairs, a large kitchen and bathroom, separate dining and living rooms and a large four-season "porch." The primary heat source for the house is a woodstove in the kitchen which is sufficient in heating all rooms. Apassive floor vent allows the heat to reach the upstairs, and there is supplemental baseboard heat in the living, dining and upstairs bedrooms if necessary. There is also baseboard heat in the bathroom to keep the pipes warm in the winter. There is a woodshed accessible from the kitchenallowing access to firewood without having to go outside.
Other features not mentioned above: Central Vaccuum, lots of storage space, washer and dryer in bathroom, two bay windows, beautiful custom woodwork throughout entire house,
The house sits on just under 8 acres of land, partial forest, partial field/lawn. It also features a large, relatively new, two stall horse barn with a full loft and a paddock, as well as a larger barn closer to the house to be used as a car garage or storage.
The Jefferson area has a lot to offer its residents. There are two golf courses, one a mile from the property and the other 10 mintues by car. It is a short drive to restaurants and shopping in Littleton, NH. There are countless hikes in the area, including the Star King and Pondicherry trails, which are both within two miles of the house, as well as easy access to any of the Presidential's and other White Mountain Peaks. It is also just a short drive to ski mountains such as Cannon and Bretton Woods. In addition there is access to a large network of snowmobiling and four-wheeling trails throughout the north woods.
