Central Florida Fair: February through March
Carnival rides and games, food, exhibits, music, and more beckon a quarter of a million visitors to the Central Florida Fairgrounds, located just minutes from Downtown Orlando. This 11-day event offers up-close encounters with more than 2,000 different livestock, addictive adrenaline rides for the kids and you bigger kids, live concerts, a rodeo, horticulture displays, homemade foods, and more. The Downtown Food & Wine Festival: March
World-class entertainment, celebrity chefs and dishes from more than 40 of Orlando’s best restaurants presenting over 100 different menu items, as well as international and domestic wines at 14 different pouring stations. Whew! What more do you need? OK, how about celebrity chefs from TV shows like Top Chef, Just Desserts and Extreme Chef? How about live cooking demonstrations? Music lovers can soak up a variety of music like neo blues, steel drums, alternative soul, and rock. There’s even a sports bar to grab a beer and watch a few games. Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival: March
1,600 artists from around the world show up at this prestigious, half century old show in the city of Winter Park’s central park, a 15 minute drive north of Orlando. Well over 350,000 visitors attend this event each year and they know what the National Endowment for the Arts, The White House, and Congress all know (officially endorsed of course); the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of best spots for promoting art and art education in Central Florida. The three day weekend festival gets you close to artists displaying watercolor, jewelry, photography, digital art, leather, painting, mixed media, and more. Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: March through May
The Flower & Garden Festival will amaze you with a myriad of flower creations throughout the park. More than 100 topiaries are scattered about manicured to replicate some of Disney’s most popular characters. Celebration Exotic Cars: April
The Celebration Exotic Car Festival is a four day smorgasbord of cars. You can get up close and personal with North America’s largest collection of exotic cars, racecars and iconic Hollywood movie cars. There are historic and beautifully restored vintage autos, to tricked-out off road vehicles, to a collection of ill-fated, but superbly cool DeLoreans. Nothing is plain here! You will definitely get revved up.
